The Barolo DOCG Baudana bears the name of the family; it is a prestigious Cru, rather uniquely, the soil here is a mix of both Formazioni di Lequio and Sant’Agata fossil marls that show a peculiar bluish tone. The nose opens with attractive tones of pomegranate, orange peel, fresh blueberries and whiffles of leather and herbs. Fine-grained, chiseled tannins are wrapped by a long and lingering finish, with signature notes of Serralunga d’Alba: eucalyptus, blueberry and sweet liquorice.
