Giovanni Manzone Barolo 'Bricat Le Gramolere' (2000)

The grapes come the oldest vines in the single vineyard of Gramolere in Monforte d’Alba where the original vines are more than 50 years old and a small part of these Nebbiolos come from the ancient ‘Rose’ variety which adds to the finesse of the wine. Ruby red with garnet at the rim, the firm tannins have softened and the big, dark, forward fruit has evolved into plush dark plums, dried cherries and raspberries balanced by campfire smoke and loads of black licorice.
